Dr. Marie Harmon has been teaching reading and writing for over two decades, from early reading instruction to college composition and literature and almost every level in between. Her vast experience ensures that she understands the scope of reading and writing necessary for your student’s academic success. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Cedarville University, a Master of Arts in English Composition Pedagogy from the University of Dayton, and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. She is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading instruction, an evidence-based program founded in science of reading principles. She can help your student with the skills of phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension to help him or her build a solid foundation for learning.
